My name is Joline and my husband Scott along with our children moved to Florida from Maine in 2015. I have been a cosmetologist for over 35 years. In 2008 I could no longer find anyone to sharpen my tools and decide to learn all I could about the sharpening industry and clipper repair.

How often should I sharpen my knives?
It depends on usage and the surface you’re cutting on, but home kitchen knives, generally need sharpening every 1 to 3 months. If honing with a steel rod, you may need to have it sharpen more often to fix your blade from dents and chips.
What’s the difference between Sharpening and honing?
Sharpening removes metal to creating new edge, while honing realign the existing edge without removing much material. However, I do not use a grinder to sharpen most items. What I use will only resurface the edge and does not remove much material at all, so it saves the integrity of your tools.
